学画“八十七神仙卷”之心得
我认为画仕女画需要飘逸流畅的线条才能表现出仕女优美动人的形象。古人总结出线描十八法，我认为最能表现仕女的线条是高古游丝描。“八十七神仙卷”可谓高古游丝描的顶峰。它的线条犹如春蚕吐丝连绵不断，画中的人物就象在微风中缓慢地行走。要学高古游丝描就要从“八十七神仙卷”入手。李可染先生曾说过，学习中国画一定要继承传统，要用最大的功力打进去，认真学习，但不能泥古，又要用最大的勇气打出来。我的理解是首先 要学习传统，然后才能创造。
在学习过程中我感到我们中国古代的壁画是学习绘画最好的老师，是前人给我们留下取之不尽用之不竭的艺术源泉。我临画了北京法海寺壁画中的珂梨帝母；山西永乐宫壁画中的玉女；敦煌莫高窟的伎乐天。在临画“87神仙卷”和这些壁画的过程中，我觉得自己走进了远古，看到那些艺人们在凿洞开窟，在漆黑的洞窟中手秉一盏油灯年复一年，不管是严冬还是酷暑，都在那儿辛勤地绘画，他们是那么认真，执著，一个人倒下了，另一个人继续上来画，一代人倒下了，下一代人又上来了，千百年过去，没有人知道他们的名字，他们却留下千古绝作。画中没有世俗的欲望，没有熏心的功利，有的只是艺人们纯洁高尚、坦荡无私的心灵。这些都深深地震撼着我。画“87神仙卷”时，我觉得吴道子来到我的身旁。我问他何为吴带当风？他不回答，只问我“风”是什么？一语点破了我，是啊，风是什么？没有人看得见风，但人人都能感觉到风，一切都在自然中，没有任何刻意的雕琢，因为风是无法雕琢的。衣服要想表现出风的感觉，不是轻易地画一条曲线就能表现出来的，它要求自然，流畅，而在自然流畅中又要充满激情。人们常说要象行云流水，云如何能走呢？靠的是风，有风云才能动,也就是说要把人穿的衣服画出有风的感觉，就应该有动感。动感又是在统一中体现出来的。“八十七神仙卷”有87位人物，还有云雾、荷花、仙女们手中所持的物品，是统一使这些人物都动了起来。 “八十七神仙卷”的原作有297公分长，30多公分高，是道教壁画的粉本, 那么作者的本意是要把它画成壁画的，不知什么原因没有完成。我个人认为如果把画放大，那么视觉效果会更好。我就先把它放大到四米多长，四十多公分高，觉得不满意，就又放大，放大成六米长，六十公分高，还觉得不满意，再放大至九米多长，九十多公分高。这时展开画卷，我感到我似乎和他们一起在行进。后来我又想，既然是壁画粉本，那么作者的原意一定是要把它画成重彩，为什么没有画，这只能是个无法解开的谜。那么我能不能画，我自己问自己，近十米长的画卷，要画重彩，可不是个容易的事。为此我曾请教了一些画家，他们都善意地劝我不要画重彩全卷，工程量太大，并告诉我有一位专业画家临了整体永乐宫壁画，如果我画的不如他，我身体又这么不好，弄不好会把命丢在上面实在不值。看着白描稿，我一边又一边地问自己，画？还是不画？我想起那些长年累月在洞窟中画壁画的艺人，他们想过值不值吗？想当年徐悲鸿先生为了找回“八十七神仙卷”,几乎付出生命，曾在画上盖上“悲鸿生命”的印章。徐悲鸿先生有没有想过值与不值呢?我认定：不敢付出生命的人是无法到达艺术的境界。我用了六年时间临画了十几幅“八十七神仙卷”，总长度约一百二十米，最后终于画出十米白描长卷“八十七神仙卷”和十米重彩长卷“八十七神仙卷”。

历经七年，八十七神仙卷从起稿到画成、用尽十九卷温州皮纸和绢本、三百多支毛笔，终只成两稿十米长卷，一稿白描，一稿重彩。2001年因心脏病抢救，七年间，一个人独自坚守，苦苦追求，曾经留下了多少欢笑和泪水，两稿长卷，一缕记忆，不断探索，不断追求，2003年3月8日，《八十七神仙郑》白描和重彩稿与《东方女性》组画一起，在北京徐悲鸿纪念馆展出，廖静文先生参加了开幕式。
